April is National Parkinson's Awareness Month

Elder Network is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit that was formed in 1988. We have been serving Dodge County since 2022, and are working to provide the community with supportive services and information for older adults and caregivers.

We want to take the time to honor people living with Parkinson’s and their families as April is National Parkinson’s Awareness Month.

According to Mayo Clinic, Parkinson’s is movement disorder that worsens over time. People living with Parkinson’s may have trouble walking, talking, or completing other tasks, but many can live well with Parkinson’s. The Parkinson’s Foundation offers support for those affected by Parkinson’s, such as people with Parkinson’s, families, care partners, and caregivers.

For more information on programs, support groups, and referrals, please contact the Parkinson’s Foundation Helpline at 1-800-473-4636. Our Dodge County staff member, Pa Cha Vang, is available to contact for caregiver support, educational opportunities, and referrals. Feel free to contact Pa Cha at 507-577-1434 or pachav@elder-network.org.
