Claremont Chamber of Commerce Donates $8,000 in Honor of David Hanson

The Claremont Chamber of Commerce donated $8,000 in honor of David Hanson at the Jan. 27 Dodge Center Lions Club meeting. Hanson passed away on Feb. 28.

The funds are earmarked to restore the landscaping and trees damaged at Dodge Country Club by storms and disease last year. Hanson and his family came to Dodge Center in the late 1960s, the same time the local golf course was being established. He was an active member was a grounds consultant to Rick Schletty for many years. He served with the Dodge Center Lions Club for decades.

“We acknowledge Dave’s leadership activities with the Lions, in particular the yearly tree planting,” said Dean Schuette, Claremont Chamber of Commerce President and CEO. “We are honored to recognize Dave in this meaningful way that will have an impact for generations to come.”

The Claremont Chamber of Commerce conducts charitable gaming (including electronic games, Bingo and paper pull-tabs) locally at Dodge Center American Legion and Dodge Country Club, BP Tavern and Claremont Pub. In 2024, more than $364,562 was donated to support local schools and non-profit organizations.
