I hope this article finds you well and that the summer has provided opportunities to create meaningful memories with your families and friends.

As the calendar transitions to August, momentum is building, and the start of the 2026-27 school year will be here shortly. Each school year presents a tremendous opportunity for our school community collectively and also for all students, staff, families, and community members. Strong partnerships are the foundation for a successful school. We as a school need to continue to create and enhance partnerships throughout each child’s educational journey. Our goal as we prepare for the school year is to ensure that families and students have all the information they need for a successful start.

As we prepare for a positive and productive 2026-27 school year, I wanted to share a few exciting facility and operational updates.

Facility Changes

Our elementary playground is receiving a facelift with new equipment and upgrades. This work should start on August 10 and is on schedule to be completed before the start of the school year. Additionally, our East Gym (HS Gym) received a complete sanding, new paint, and finish. This should create a safer playing surface for physical education and sports.

Community Partnerships

At the July Board Meeting, facility sponsorships for two highly used spaces at our school were approved. These sponsorships will help us maintain these spaces and support the programs that utilize them. The East Gym will be called the Heritage Bank Arena, and the PAC will be the Welsh Equipment, Inc. PAC. We wanted to thank our sponsorship partners for their continued support of Triton Schools.

Safety and Operations

In terms of operational changes, to enhance safety and security, we will be adding the Raptor Guest Check-In System to each one of our building offices (TES, TMS, THS). This will replace the CheckMate system we had in the TMS and THS offices. The Raptor Visitor Management System is a security

check-in tool. The purpose is to make sure we have a formal system for checking in visitors. When visiting our school, guests will scan an ID for a quick background check before receiving a visitor's badge and clearance.

Additionally, we have formed a committee to help guide the application and use of artificial intelligence (AI) in our school. Generative AI presents exciting possibilities and challenges that need to be addressed for security, safety, and academic integrity. The committee will help shape guidelines for student, staff, instruction, and school operation use.

Thank you for taking the time to read this article and for your work, engagement, and partnership. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or ideas for improvement as we prepare for the school year.
