The Dodge County Boys hockey team were the eight seed in Section 1A of Minnesota High School League tournaments last week. They met the #1 seed Hibbing/Chisolm in the class A quarter finals on Wednesday March 4th at the Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul. The team had played well and pulled off a couple upsets in section play and had high hopes going to the state.
The quarter final match began with the Wildcats holding Hibbing scoreless to end the first period 0-0. The second period was a relentless Hibbing offensive with the Bluejackets putting three goals on the score board. Hibbing put another puck in the net in the third period and the Wildcats were able to answer with about three minutes left in the game. Hibbing out shot the Wildcats 47 – 18 for the game and advanced to the semi finals with a 4-1 win over the Wildcats.
