Larry Raymond Larson, 75, of Claremont, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.

He was born March 7, 1949, in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of Raymond Ole and Helen (Selthun) Larson. He grew up and farmed the family farm in rural Claremont. Larry attended grade school at District 13 and attended high school at the Owatonna Senior High, graduating in 1967. Larry went to Austin Votec for 2 years and graduated with a degree in Farm Mechanics. He was then drafted and served in the United States Army from 1970-1971, stationed in Korea. Along with farming with his brother Wayne on the family farm, Larry was a rural mail carrier with the United States Postal Service for 7 years.

Larry loved to hunt deer, pheasants, and go fishing with family and friends. He also loved his Mopar Muscle cars, cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, and attending car shows. He was a lifetime member of the Morristown Gun Club, VFW, American Legion, DAV, and the Aurora Lutheran Church. Larry enjoyed taking bus trips across the United States and was proud he had visited 41 of the 50 states. Larry also enjoyed going to his place in Florida to escape the cold Minnesota winters. He was proud of all of his nieces and nephews, and family members.

He is survived by his brother, Wayne (and Jean) Larson of Claremont; sister, Cheryl (and Steve) Thompson of Owatonna; 6 nieces and nephews, 11 great nieces and nephews, and 3 great-great nephews and niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Ole and Helen Larson.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 11AM at Aurora Lutheran Church with a visitation at the church from 9AM-11AM. Interment will be in the Aurora Lutheran Cemetery in rural Owatonna. The Steele County Military Funeral Unit will be providing military honors. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Aurora Lutheran Church.
