Mrs. Wheeler, Triton German Teacher, has helped provide students with unique travel opportunities. Mrs. Wheeler was the first Triton teacher to take students on an international educational trip, helping establish a tradition that continues today.
During an interview, Mrs. Wheeler shared her thoughts about these travel experiences. When asked what she looks forward to most, she explained that the trips are “an eye-opening and life-changing experience” for her students. She emphasized the importance of students gaining a broader perspective of the world.
When asked what she hopes students take away from the trip, Mrs. Wheeler said she wants students to understand “how amazing the world is and how important it is to keep it safe.” She also clarified that the upcoming European trip will include multiple countries—Germany, Poland, Hungary, and Austria—offering students exposure to a diverse range of cultures and traditions.
In addition to the educational value, Mrs. Wheeler expressed excitement about experiencing new foods. She mentioned that she is especially interested in trying Turkish kebabs, noting that they are difficult to find in the United States. Looking ahead, she also shared that future travel destinations she will explore with students include Japan, France, Germany, and Switzerland.
These trips provide students at Triton High School with memorable and meaningful experiences. They offer opportunities to learn, explore new cultures, and create lasting memories with friends—making them a valuable part of the Triton educational experience.
