After our most recent snow event (and subsequent snow day) the Nature Studies class collaborated with their nature buddies in Mrs. Wohlfiel’s second-grade classroom to make snow ice cream. The students followed a simple recipe that consisted of milk, sugar, salt, and vanilla. After mixing those ingredients, they ventured outside to collect their snow. Once back inside, a lot of mixing was involved. Thankfully all the kids were able to help with that step. Once mixed, the students got to enjoy it with some tasty toppings as well! As high school student Avery Rieser said, “This was actually really good!” The students seemed to all share that sentiment when they asked for seconds!
