K-M/Triton soccer boys open season with a draw

KASSON—It was good to be back on the pitch for the Kasson-Mantorville/Triton boys soccer team, despite their game against the Faribault Falcons ending in a 0-0 tie on Friday night, August 23. KoMet keeper Riley Mitchell played a great game, posting seven saves and capturing the well-deserved shutout. K-M/T had opportunities that just didn’t materialize, including a last-second goal that was called back, due to a hairline offsides call.

“While not the exact result we were looking for, it was a strong start against a solid team,” said Coach Shawn Bromelkamp. Faribault had defeated the team twice last season, including in the playoffs. Next up is a Tuesday matchup in Byron, versus the Bears, a section and conference opponent.
